New 8-Ball and 9-Ball Scotch Doubles Divisions will be starting in August! 8-Ball begins 8/20 and will play every other week. 9-Ball begins 8/27 and will play every other week. The league play will take place of the Vegas Cups for 8-Ball and 9-Ball Scotch Doubles. Playoff winners will advance to the Poolplayer Championships next Spring. The winners will also receive Travel Assistance. The amount of Travel Assistance is based on the number of teams in each league.
This will be a travel league between the Clubhouse and the Moose. We only have 6 tables available at the Clubhouse. There will be one table per match.
Links to register your team are at the bottom of the page.
Teams
All members must be active on a current roster in the APA Heart of VA.
The team roster can have 3 players. However, only 2 players will play in Vegas and receive Travel Assistance.
The team must start the session at a combined Skill Level of 10 or below. During the session, the team may move to a max combined Skill Level of 12. If the team exceeds a combined Skill Level of 12, then the team will have to reconfigure.
If you play both 8-ball and 9-ball, the teams do not have to be the same members. These are 2 separate divisions.
League Play
A league doubles match consists of 2 singles matches and the doubles match.
The 2 players from the teams play the singles matches first. Then, the teams play the doubles match.
The singles matches are entered into the system and count towards the players lifetime matches and their individual Skill Level calculation.
A league match should last 3 to 3.5 hours.
Scoring
The Scorekeeper app is not programmed for doubles or singles matches. Scoring for the matches will be on paper.
In an 8-ball match, both singles matches are worth up to 3 points each. The singles matches are handicapped based on the Skill Levels of the players. The doubles match is worth up to 6 points. The doubles match is handicapped based on the Skill Levels of the teams. It is possible on a good night to win 12 points.
8-Ball Scotch Doubles Scoresheet
